Burke County Friends for Animals is now offering
obedience training classes at the Adoption Center on Kirksey Drive

Outreach Adoption Activities
In addition to our regular Adoption Center hours,
BCFFA dogs and cats are offered at PetsMart in Hickory 2 weekends a
month. Hours there are 11:AM to 4 PM and a varied selection of both
dogs and cats are there for your viewing. Volunteers are present to assist you and to answer any
questions you might have about BCFFA.
The Cell Dog Program
Over a year ago a new Community Outreach
program began. In cooperation with the North Carolina Division of
Prisons 3 dogs were provided to the inmates at the Foothills Minimum
Custody Unit to teach inmates responsibility for daily care and
training of dogs, good work ethics and instill a sense of pride and
accomplishment. The Graduation of the first group of
dogs was held on Tuesday, October 17th, 2006.

page. The tenth group of 3 dogs is now in training.
